Sims Saver

Version v0.2.1 · 2026-09-12

Keeps your Sims 4 (and Sims 3) saves, tray and mods backed up and in sync across your computers — into storage you or a friend control. Runs quietly in the tray. Every change is kept, so you can go back to yesterday's save.

SHA-256 sums: checksums.txt. macOS builds are not yet signed: after installing, run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Sims Saver.app" once (the install script does this for you).

Have an invite code?

If someone is hosting storage for you, they'll give you a code starting with SIMS1-. Install the app, and on the Storage step paste it into “Have a code from a friend?” — nothing else to set up.

  1. Install with the one-liner (or a download above).
  2. Name your computer and confirm your Sims folder — it's found automatically.
  3. Paste the code, click Use code, then Start syncing.

How it works

Sims Saver watches your Sims folders. A few seconds after the game saves, the change is uploaded; other computers pick it up within a minute. Every version is kept (ten per file by default), deleted files can be restored for thirty days, and if two computers edit the same save before syncing, both are kept — the older one appears in-game as a “conflict from…” copy so you can choose.

Works with S3-compatible storage (Backblaze B2, Cloudflare R2, Wasabi…), WebDAV/Nextcloud, SFTP, network shares, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, or a plain folder. Files can be encrypted with a passphrase so the storage host can't read them.
